What started as one person’s passion has grown into a powerful movement for change.
In September 2020, THE !N CROWD was founded with a bold vision: to build communities where inclusion, connection, and independence aren’t just ideals — they’re everyday realities.
Born from lived experience and a desire to rewrite the narrative for people often left behind, THE !N CROWD began by walking alongside individuals and families navigating the complexities of disability support. But the vision didn’t stop there. As the needs in our community became more visible, our mission grew — extending to those facing mental health challenges and homelessness, and wrapping support around the people and stories that matter most.
From the very beginning, we knew this wasn’t about charity — it was about community. About empowering people to take steps toward their own healing, growth, and purpose. We built programs that meet people where they’re at, developed deep local partnerships, and created spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
As a registered charity under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), we’ve worked hard to build a strong, sustainable foundation. Our reputation for compassionate, grassroots support is built on years of hands-on experience and the trust of local businesses, families, and individuals who believe in what we do.

With over three years dedicated to operating THE !N CROWD homelessness support services, Kurt has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals and families.
His passion for creating lasting, inclusive change drives THE !N CROWD’s mission to empower people, break cycles of disadvantage, and foster community connection. Kurt’s leadership is rooted in compassion, innovation, and a commitment to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
As Founder and Director, Kurt continues to shape THE !N CROWD into a dynamic and impactful organisation, building sustainable programs and partnerships that leave no one behind. His dedication to empowering others makes him a steadfast advocate for change on the Sunshine Coast and beyond.
Beau is the creative force behind the marketing strategies at THE !N CROWD, leveraging his expertise to amplify the organisation’s mission and impact. With a strong background in marketing and communications, Beau brings innovative ideas and strategic thinking to the team, ensuring our message reaches and resonates with diverse audiences.
As a director, Beau is passionate about building awareness around the challenges faced by individuals, families, and communities affected by disabilities, mental health challenges, and homelessness. Josh brings years of hands-on experience in hosting and structuring youth and young adult programs, making him an instrumental force in supporting young people and fostering community growth. His dedication to creating safe, engaging spaces for youth and young adults is matched by his commitment to helping those experiencing homelessness.
Through his volunteer work in homeless support services, Josh has developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable populations. His compassionate approach and strategic mindset ensure that THE !N CROWD’s programs are impactful and tailored to the needs of individuals and families.
As a Director, Josh leverages his expertise to strengthen the organisation’s initiatives, focusing on empowering individuals and building inclusive communities. His passion for social change and his ability to inspire action make him a vital part of THE !N CROWD’s leadership team.
Wendy brings extensive knowledge in finance and banking to her role as a Board Member for THE !N CROWD. With a strong professional background, she offers strategic insights and financial acumen that help drive sustainable growth and effective resource management for the organisation.

She has dedicated years to volunteering in roles that support individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Shannon is a dedicated social worker specialising in children’s counselling. She brings a wealth of experience and compassion to her role at THE !N CROWD. With a strong background in supporting children and families through challenging circumstances, Shannon’s expertise lies in creating safe spaces for young people to express themselves and heal.
As a board member, Shannon contributes her deep understanding of the social and emotional needs of children and their families, ensuring our programs and services are inclusive, impactful, and supportive. Outside of her professional work, Shannon is passionate about advocating for mental health awareness and developing innovative approaches to support the most vulnerable members of the Sunshine Coast community.

With a videography and digital media background, he provides creative insight and technical skills that enhance the organisation’s ability to connect with the community through storytelling and outreach.
Craig’s journey, which includes a period of experiencing homelessness and navigating mental health challenges, gives him a profound understanding of the issues THE !N CROWD seeks to address. His experiences inform his empathetic and innovative approach to supporting individuals and families facing similar struggles, ensuring the organisation’s programs are impactful and grounded in real-world needs.
