Just like scaffolding in construction, these supports are designed to be temporary but reliable — in place just long enough to help someone stabilise, strengthen, and grow into independence. Once confidence, capability, and connection are established, the scaffold can be stepped away from — and the individual stands strong in what they’ve built.
Scaffolding is a term widely used in education and development, referring to temporary structures that support learning, growth, or skill-building. It’s about meeting people where they are, offering the right level of assistance, and gradually reducing that support as confidence and independence increase.
