At THE !N CROWD, we see the true face of food insecurity every week — and it doesn’t discriminate by age, background, or postcode. From young children to seniors in their seventies, individuals and families across the Sunshine Coast are struggling to access safe, nutritious food that is essential for health, development, and a dignified life.
But what exactly is food insecurity?
According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), food insecurity is defined as:
“A situation where people do not have secure access to enough safe and nutritious food for normal growth, development, and an active and healthy life.”
This issue goes far beyond empty pantries. Food insecurity strains family relationships, undermines physical health, and takes a heavy toll on mental wellbeing. It creates stress, isolation, and anxiety — and as social divides widen, more households are finding it harder to provide their children with wholesome, safe meals.
The Real Impact on Our Community:
At THE !N CROWD, we refuse to accept this as normal.
“No One Goes Without” — is not just a slogan; it’s a promise to our community. Through our programs like The Pantry and Community on Wheels, we’re working tirelessly with local partners to provide access to nutritious food, support services, and community connection for those who need it most.
But we can’t do it alone.
Building inclusive, resilient, and independent communities takes all of us. Every act of kindness, every donation, and every partnership helps bridge the gap between struggle and stability for our neighbours.
🌟 Join us in making the Sunshine Coast a place where no one goes without.
Together, we can make sure that dignity, nourishment, and hope are never out of reach.
